Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using ScreenCode.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ScreenCode, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all HR users (paying customers) and candidates (participants in assessments).

2. Service Description

ScreenCode provides a technical hiring assessment platform. HR users can create and administer assessments; candidates participate via unique links. The service includes AI-assisted assessment generation, code execution via a sandboxed environment, and results reporting.

3. HR User Obligations

You are responsible for ensuring candidates are informed that their responses are monitored and scored. You must only use ScreenCode for legitimate hiring purposes. You must not use ScreenCode to discriminate unlawfully, to collect data without consent, or to assess minors without appropriate consent.

4. Candidate Obligations

Candidates must provide accurate personal information. Code submissions must be the candidate's own work. Attempts to circumvent anti-cheat monitoring, manipulate the code execution environment, or tamper with the assessment are prohibited.

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of ScreenCode is also governed by our Privacy Policy. HR users are responsible for ensuring they have lawful basis to process candidate data and that candidates have been informed appropriately.

6. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for downtime caused by maintenance, third-party provider outages (Supabase, Judge0, Vercel, Render), or circumstances beyond our control.

7. Intellectual Property

Assessment content created by HR users remains their intellectual property. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point and may be edited. ScreenCode retains rights to the platform, infrastructure, and any anonymised aggregate insights derived from usage.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. HR users may cancel their account from Settings. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms without prior notice. Upon termination, data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion.

9. Limitation of Liability

ScreenCode is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and limit our liability to the amount you paid in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in [Your city], India.
